In this post, I’m going to show how video can increase sales, online conversions, and overall consumer engagement through a simple 3 step process.

  1. Find genuine value to provide your market.
  2. Deliver professional production value
  3. Do it persistently

I have been using this specific process for a variety of industries for many years, but in the last five have really refined it to take advantage of the shifting change in the social paradigm.

Today, your market is already somewhere on the web, and in search of specific information. The key to grabbing their attention is to put out quality content that is succinct, easily shared, and provides value. Visual content such as video, pics, and infographs are the most viral content on the web today.

The market is certainly out there, and reachable. It’s all about grabbing their attention.

Think of yourself for a second. How do you find out about the new products and services you use?

  • Was it from a friend or family member’s recommendation?
  • Was it from a search on google, or YouTube, or Yahoo?
  • Was it just traditional word of mouth?

Your market chooses their products & services the same way. We are smack in the middle of the Information Age, and content is king. Good content ranks high on search engines, especially after Google’s penguin update. Quality content is passed around (i.e. goes viral) because of its value and provides the ultimate way to build credibility, establish your brand, and engage your audience. Video is the easiest medium of ‘information’ to digest, and therefore the most effective. There is a reason YouTube is one of the top search engines in the world…

In a typical month, more people do searches on the video site (YouTube) than on any site other than Google. In fact, they do more searches on YouTube than they do on the next three smallest search engines combined.

Think about it.

Are you more likely to buy a product you have never seen in action, or one that has a short video explaining its features, value and how it works? Are you less likely to return this product since you saw it in action before you purchased it?

That is the key to increasing sales, and why the use of video has skyrocketed in recent months…

Online video use increased to 81 percent of marketers during 2011, and 52 percent of marketers said they were using video with email marketing programs in 2011, said PRWeb.

Videos also can [label color=”green”]increase online sales conversions by close to 300%![/label] It is that effective.

…Online video has been shown to improve sales and reduce return rates…..On Treepodia’s website, they report that some of their customers have seen as much as a 300% increase in conversion as a result of including online videos for products and that sales for products featuring videos are up significantly, says PRweb.

How Our Program Works

While digesting this information over the last year, I came to a couple of conclusions.

  • Video is essential to business growth in the information age.
  • Video needs to be professionally produced to have the greatest ROI.
  • The content of the video must be valuable to the market so it is shared.
  • The videos must be delivered consistently.

To back up these concepts, here are a couple of highlights from 101 Online Video Statistics for 2012:

  • Of 3,800 social media marketers, 76% cited YouTube and video marketing as their top area for investment in 2012; it was video’s second straight year in the top spot, as cited by Brainshark.
  • REELSEO communicates that the average social video ad campaign generated a 30% increase in additional value above the media spend by being shared.
  • In a Forbes study, it was found that: three-quarters (75%) of executives surveyed said they watch work-related videos on business-related websites at least weekly; more than half (52%) watch work-related videos on YouTube at least weekly.
  • eMarketer expects a 55% growth for online video, the fastest-growing ad format, in 2012.

From these conclusions, I developed a program to allow businesses to capitalize on this growing trend. Any business would love to have videos for all their products/services that help increase sales, conversions, and lower return rates.

In the video above, I introduce myself, and pitch you the same information I pitch to every client I meet in person for the first time. I go into detail about my 3 step process to grow any business with video.
